Blog 5 — First Playable Prototype

This is the game I have been making currently with a designer as a project for the class.

The game is Stop the Aliens

It is a 2D platform Top-Down Shooting game that player kills the aliens that invaded the player’s house.

I am the Producer of the game, so I am the programmer of the game. I made this game using the unity engine with the art assets that the designer make for the game.

Yesterday, I tested the game with several classmates, and received feedbacks of the game about both mechanically and artworks.

For mechanical feedbacks, we received feedbacks of most testers that says the player is too slow compared to the aliens. In addition, they would like to see more levels of the game.

So for next development, we decided to change those features that player moves a bit faster than now, and add several levels to the game, so the game becomes more difficult.

For artwork feedbacks, we received that the dining table with chair would make better background, in addition, one tester said that they would like a different color of furniture to the floor color. So, we discussed about the feedbacks and thought they are reasonable enough, so we decided to add some more furniture obstacles for another stage.

Besides of the feedbacks of the mechanics / artworks,
